Our return to blogging

Unfortunately I have been away from my blog for almost a year, it all started when we went away on holidays and then summer break took over and I stopped taking time for myself and working on my blog which is something I enjoy. However I am back and I am making it my goal to post at least once a week.

So what has all happened this past 8 months in our family, well a lot.

First Monkey is now 15 years old, yikes, he has grown into an amazing young man who is still busy with his sports and staring at his I phone.

Artist has matured so much this school year, she helps out more with our youngest child, has learned more about self-regulation and is better at telling us when she needs a sensory tool such as a weighted blanket or the ear muffs to block out noise. Artist is still very much into her crafts and gets very excited when she gets to add more craft supplies to her stockpile.

Baby boy is no longer a baby as he now goes to full time preschool where we have watched him learn how to write his name, become more independent and also learn French (now I'm in more trouble as all three of my children can now talk French and most of the time I don't understand them). Baby boy has also started speech therapy which has done wonders for him, he now has so much to say and most of the time we can understand what he is telling us. We also met with specialists who acknowledged that he does have a developmental delay and sensory issues so he would benefit from seeing an Occupational Therapist which he begins in about a month. Thankfully we have lots of experience with this topic from Artist and we are able to transfer over a lot of what we have learned from one child to the next.

As for myself there really isn't anything new with me, I keep busy with work and family. I recently watched Tidying up on Netflix and worked on decluttering our house and organizing things. It felt amazing to get declutter so many items in our house that we have been hanging on to for no reason. It also feels amazing to be caught up on putting laundry away, yes we were those people that would wash the laundry, and I wash it daily, and then leave it in the laundry basket because I didn't feel like folding it.

Jay is still busy with work and running around taking Monkey to hockey practices and games. He still enjoys getting to sneak away for a day of snowmobiling when we have a weekend without hockey.

As we continue our journey as parents we are excited to share our stories and offer up tips and advice as we implement and learn new techniques.
